The Groundwater Monitoring System

The monitoring system is divided into three parts: Power Supply, Sensors & Control, and Data Visualization.
The Power Supply enables the system to be self-sustaining as it utlizes renewable energy to charge the battery powering the sensor control box and the sensors.
The Sensors & Control comprises of the sensor control box and sensor and gathers the following parameters: pH levels, temperature, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, salinity, static water level, and battery reading
The data gathered by the sensor control box is sent to a cloud server for Data Visualization. The transmission from the sensor control box to the cloud is done through GSM/GPRS.

Pressure Sensor Setup

Industrial grade sensors were selected over lab grade sensors to prevent unexpected malfunctions caused by very poor quality of the water (e.g. solids present in the water) and for faster calibration compared to lab grade sensors.
